The Advisory Council will provide independent, expert advice on public health matters and help shape the Australian CDC’s strategic direction and priorities.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to work of real national importance.
We are seeking respected leaders with deep expertise, experience or qualifications in:
- public health
- clinical practice
- economics
- data and statistics
- emergency management
- communications
- human rights
- other related fields, including artificial intelligence and behavioural science.
Members will bring to the role:
- recognised standing in their respective fields of expertise
- sound judgement
- strategic perspective
- the ability to work through complex and sensitive issues thoughtfully and constructively.
We are committed to building an Advisory Council that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We strongly encourage applications from:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who have relevant expertise, qualifications or experience in the health needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
- people with disability who have relevant expertise, qualifications or experience in the health needs of people with disability.
Consistent with our establishing legislation, the Advisory Council must include members with these lived experiences.
These statutory appointments will be on a part-time basis for a term of up to 3-years. Members will be remunerated for their time, and will need to attend at least 2 meetings per year.
